Brass instruments include French Horn, Tuba, Trombone, Trumpet. Wood-Wind instruments include Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe. Courses are offered to students from varying abilities from beginner to advanced levels.
Beginner Course:
Students will be taught how to hold their musical instruments. The formation of a proper embouchure, the use proper articulation and breathing techniques are also emphasized. At least 4 major scales and their relative minors (natural/harmonic) will be taught. This will be accompanied by various technical exercises which will be chosen at the teacher's discretion.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to sit the ABRSM practical examinations for grade 1-2.

Intermediate Course:
Emphasis will be placed on increasing students' range on their musical instrument in addition to the improvement of their tone and overall technique. Students will be taught all major scales and the relative minors (natural/harmonic). This will be accompanied by various technical exercises which will be chosen at the teacher's discretion. Students will also be introduced to the foundational elements of improvisation.
Upon successful completion, students will be able to sit the ABRSM practical examinations for grade 3-5.

Advanced Course:
An emphasis will be placed on guiding students in achieving a tone, articulation and overall technique that sounds "professional". Students will also be guided in improvisation techniques if they have an inclination towards Jazz/commercial music. This course is seen as the final step offered by the department in the students’ preparation for professional performance or the study of music at the tertiary level.
Upon successful completion, students will be able to sit the ABRSM practical examinations for grade 6-8.
