Beginner:
Students will be taught how to hold musical instruments in a group setting. The formation of a proper embouchure, proper articulation and breathing techniques are also emphasized. Students will be guided through a series of simple melodies and ensemble arrangements provided by various resources such as the “Standard of Excellence Comprehensive Band Method”.
Advanced:
Students will be guided through various ensemble arrangements that will be performed at an end of term concert or any other virtual/live events that the band director or school’s administration deems beneficial to the students. A weekly full ensemble and a section based rehearsal (subject to change) will occur. Students will be guided through technical exercises; major scales and their relative minors and other essential ensemble based techniques such as blend and articulation.
