Post: Piano Teacher
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the post of Piano Teacher, commencing September 2021. The appointment would be for one year in the first instance.
Position Overview:
The Piano Teacher provides effective teaching instruction to students of varying ages and abilities up to a pre tertiary level using a mixed modality of online/in-person teaching methods when required. Responsibilities includes preparing students for regular student recitals and external theory/practical examinations in a manner than ensures strict adherence to the school’s Covid-19 health and safety guidelines. Other responsibilities include serving as an accompanist and other duties that match the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Qualifications:
University degree or equivalent in Music Education with a minimum of two years practical teaching experience for piano is required. Skills in the use of multimedia & computer technology to enhance learning are essential. The candidate must be organized, hardworking and self-motivated.
Duties:
These would include (but are not limited to):
- Identifying and training suitable tutors under the school’s mentorship programme.
- Teaching individual and semi-private classes to students at various levels and abilities
- Performing at various concert events on behalf of the school
- Contributing in other areas of the appointee’s special interest and/or department needs.
